Privacy Policy.
We try to collect as little as possible, never sell your data, and tell you plainly what we do collect and why. This policy applies to the Mojave Labs website (mojavelabs.io) and to mobile and desktop applications published by Mojave Labs (the "Services").
Who we are
"Mojave Labs," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Mojave Labs, the publisher of the Services. You can contact us any time at privacy@mojavelabs.io.
The short version
- We collect the minimum information needed to make our Services work.
- Most of our apps store your data on your device or in your personal iCloud — not on our servers.
- We do not sell or rent your personal information. Ever.
- We do not use your content to train AI models.
- You can ask us to delete data we hold about you at any time.
What we collect
Information you provide
If you contact us by email, fill out a form, or sign up for an account or newsletter, we receive whatever you choose to send us — typically your name, email address, and the contents of your message. We use that information to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation.
Information from your device
When you use one of our apps, your device may share standard technical information with us, such as the app version, the operating system version, device model, and approximate region (derived from IP address, not precise location). We use this to diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and understand which features are being used.
Information stored on your device
Most data you create in our apps — notes, settings, preferences, files, and similar content — is stored on your device. If you have iCloud or another cloud sync feature enabled, that data may also be stored in your personal cloud account under your control. We do not have access to that data.
Purchases and subscriptions
Purchases and subscriptions for our iOS apps are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive aggregated, non-identifying sales information from Apple. We do not receive your payment details, full name, or address from Apple.
Analytics and diagnostics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics and crash-reporting tools (for example, Apple's built-in App Analytics, or similar services) to understand how our Services are used and to fix problems. Where these tools collect any identifiers, we configure them to use aggregated or anonymized data wherever possible. You can opt out of sharing analytics with developers in your device's settings.
Cookies and the website
Our marketing website (mojavelabs.io) uses only essential cookies and similar technologies. We do not use third-party advertising trackers on our website.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Services.
- To respond to your messages and provide support.
- To diagnose, fix, and prevent bugs and abuse.
- To send transactional notices (for example, a security alert or a reply to a support email).
- To comply with legal obligations.
How we share information
We share personal information only in these limited cases:
- Service providers. We use a small number of trusted vendors — such as hosting, email delivery, and analytics providers — to run our Services. They process information on our behalf under contract, and only as needed to provide their services.
- Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users or the public.
- Business transfers. If Mojave Labs is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you and provide choices where the law requires.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Children's privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Support emails are typically retained for up to two years. Diagnostic data is retained for a limited period and is not tied to your identity.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@mojavelabs.io. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
U.S. state privacy rights
Residents of California and certain other U.S. states have specific rights to know, delete, correct, and limit the use of their personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
International data transfers
We are based in the United States. If you use our Services from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) where required by law.
Third-party links
Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies before sharing information with them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, give you additional notice (for example, in-app or by email). Your continued use of the Services after a change becomes effective means you accept the updated policy.
